A Brief History of Black Hills Bible Camp

Since 1968, Black Hills Bible Camp has played an important role in the lives of many Christian families in South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas. For more than a quarter century, we have provided a beautiful setting in the Black Hills where families and young people can enjoy wholesome outdoor recreation, Christian fellowship, and well planned Bible study, discussion and worship.

BHBC began modestly, renting the facilities of a Boy Scout Camp. From those early times the camp grew to groups of up to 300 people. From 1971 to 2004, the camp has rented the facilities of Camp Mallo, owned by Weston County, Wyoming.

In 2005, we made a rather monumental move from the Mallo facility to the spacious facilities at Kamp Kinship. Kamp Kinship offers many amenities that the Mallo site did not, and is controlled by people who are sympathetic to the needs of a religious based camp organizations.

BHBC is a South Dakota non-profit corporation with 501 C3 status from the Internal Revenue Service (Federal I.D. # 46-0450107, issued 2/5/99). Our Board of Directors is made up of members of the Church of Christ.
